Who We Are

We are a husband and wife duo originally from London, now based in Wiltshire.

My husband has a removals and clearance business, and is main supplier of the items we rescue.

I work in consulting but find that at the weekends I need to roll up my sleeves and use a different side of my brain.

We started with small projects for our new home, with items that had not been donated to charity from the clearances. It was so sad to see how much was unwanted, people's treasured items often reduced to fire wood, so we started to do more, and people not only gave us positive comments, they wanted to buy items for their own homes.

Most of our items come from house clearances, some need up-cycling and customisation, whilst others are nice vintage furniture pieces that we just clean up and pop on the site.

So here we are.

CUSTOMISATION:

I have been asked by a lovely regular customer to customise some of her items.
Here are some large candlesticks that have gone from green to a dramatic black / copper colour scheme.

First experiment painting upholstery and it came out so well.

Some damage to the base of the trays, so covered in cork to keep it in period and to create an attractive feature.

Trays are removable, so super versatile.

Produced in 1999 'La Marie' was the first completely transparent chair in the world, made of polycarbonate in a single mould.
Both classic and contemporary (featured in many design collections), they have 'La Marie by Starck for Kartell, Made in Italy and an arrow pointing to 99 (1999) imprinted on a back panel.
They are in a good used condition with some surface scratches.

The story of the La Marie chair by Philippe Starck is one of innovation, accessibility, and design for the public.

These are so elegant.
Up-cycled in black from a dark wood colour to give them a bit of a make over.
Originally used for plates (there is a ridge on each shelf for the plates to rest) but these would look good in a kitchen or bathroom with your treasures on display.
A little bit of gold detailing catches the eye and we think they look gorgeous.

HELP:

Looking for clues on this hall stand.
All our research has been futile so far - we cant find anything similar.

Anyone got any ideas?
Its beautiful and functional, looks 1930's or 40's to me and made of oak.

Any leads welcome.

FOR SALE:

Made in England , Morco sewing boxes are known for their deep interiors lined with fabric and are multifunctional, often being used as a coffee or bedside table.
This piece needed a bit of love, its pink interior needing removal and replacing and a lick of paint to tackle some wear and tear.
Now with a black exterior and a black velvet lining with a flash of its original dark oak retained on the inside of the lid.
It is a really lovely scalloped shape and of great proportions.
