This is early 20th century and our research tells us it is from Hong Kong.
The joints are made by cutting into the bamboo in a woven manner, its a really unusual way to design and looks great.
It has cleaned up well, there is some damage to the bamboo (last picture) but its not falling off and it does not make the side unstable, it just moves when pressed as the bamboo is hollow.
It can be used as a stool or side table.
